BIO

Enrico De Santis

ENRICO DE SANTIS, born in Rome on June 26, 1970, is one of Italy’s leading photojournalists.
Law graduate from La Sapienza University in Rome, he teaches photojournalism and visual communication at many higher education institutions, including the RCS Business School, the University of Milan, and the Società Umanitaria (Humanitarian Society) in Milan. His courses teach how to read images, understand the rules of visual communication, develop consistent and efficient projects, and produce images that reach the goal while respecting one’s vocations and enhancing one’s aptitudes.

De Santis is an external critic at Apexart in New York and the featured photographer for the “Experience” (exclusive trips) organized by the monthly magazine “DOVE”. He is a leading contributor to the prestigious photographic magazine “Città”. His reportages (published in newspapers such as “Corriere della Sera” and “Il Giorno”) tell the story of the heroes fighting the ‘Ndrangheta, the lands taken from the Camorra, the Texaco oil in the Amazonia or the waste recycling in Ecuador, the Karabakh conflict or the South Africa rooibos plantations.

De Santis wrote many installments on the Italy’s hidden beauties for the weekly magazine “Sette”, which led to his solo exhibition “Portare alla Luce” (Bring to Light) in 2019. His reporting on the Cobat mission in the Himalayas gave rise to “Don’t Forget Nepal”, the most viewed photography exhibition in Milan during the Expo 2015, which was replicated in 2021 at the Società Umanitaria in Milan.
